Election Prayer

As today is Election Day, a small break to pray for our nation and leaders in this turbulent political climate. The readings today are from the Inclusive Bible to try to keep them more relevant to our time and location.

Scripture has lots to say about leaders and leadership. What are the common threads you find in these passages? What kind of leadership are you hoping for in this election?

Let us pray today for all who are seeking leadership positions on this day.

Gracious God, pour your love and wisdom upon those who seek office today. May they promise to lead with integrity and humility; may they promise to govern with justice; and may your mercy never fail to shine forth from all that they do.
Amen
